being a cishet looks boring why do people do that
Idk maybe bc sexuality/gender isnt based on how cool or interesting an individual wants to look
yeah but why be boring when u can be awesome and not cishet
yeah but why treat lgbt+ identities like some trendy fashion accessory that ppl can just slap on to look cool when u could not act like a complete idiot

what it says:
I think the best part of being a woman is the sexual security that we have. I mean like even a straight woman could know that she’s not interested in women, but she can still sit on another girl’s lap and hold her hand and maybe even kiss her if they were that close. If two guys even make eye contact with each other they have to screech “NO HOMO” at the top of their lungs to make sure everybody knows that they are not gay.
how i read it:
I think the best part of being a straight woman is the sexual self-confidence that we have. A straight woman who knows she’s not interested in women and who everyone knows is straight can sit on another girl’s lap and hold her hand and even kiss without getting harassed and called a dyke, unlike e.g. lesbians, who would be labelled creeps by their peers if they acted like that with their straight female friends, and who avoid actual sexual and romantic PDA with their girlfriends/partners because of homophobic harassment. It’s also great that straight women can make fun of straight guys to distance themselves from heterosexuality as an oppressive institution so that they can pretend they themselves are not homophobic, despite constantly participating in the very same no-homo themselves by worrying that they look “too lesbian” with short hair, saying things like “feminists are not man-hating lesbians”, and being homophobic bullies in general.
